Referred to as a video probe, video scope, or video bore-scope, this is a flexible material with a small charged coupled device built into the lens end of the scope. Diameter sizes can vary from 10 millimeters down to 2 millimeters. Distances also vary, with lengths ranging from 3 feet up to 50 feet. Most probes currently used are capable of articulating the tip of the scope either manually or through a digital control module, depending on what is being used.
Many video scopes have a video out feature which allows the user to record live video to a hard drive or any other recording device with a RCA Video Input. Some units will allow the user to capture still images directly to a SD card.
